About Us!

Welcome to Gold Barn Blueberries! We are a family friendly U-Pick operation. We offer many different varieties for you to choose from throughout our season and we welcome you to try them all or else find a new favorite.

We are located in the beautiful Holland Michigan area just off of US - 31. We are surrounded by the stunning Lake Michigan beaches, amazing small businesses, and so much more. We are more than a destination; we are an experience!

How did we get started? It all began with Harold Aussicker. After he came home from serving in the Second World War, he wanted a quiet life of farming. He settled with his parents here on the corner of Quincy and 160th what is now called Gold Barn Blueberries but then it was called simply "Aussicker's". Some of our oldest remaining blueberry bushes were planted in 1947! Our Jerseys were actually a wedding anniversary gift from Jennie Aussicker to her husband Rolly Aussicker in 1947 (Harold's parents).  They are our 5 rows of Jerseys and you can still pick on those today when they come into season.

Many of our blueberry bushes were later planted in the decades to follow and some of our newest plantings were put in in the fall of 2024! We are frequently updating our fields with new varieties but we work hard to hold onto our originals to pay homage to our past. Here you will find some of the older varieties like Ruble and Pemberton and yes, Jerseys.
